Often asked questions.
Do I place all of the monetizing ways available as I initially build the blog?
Other than being a very time consuming process as there are many, many ways to monetize a blog I would not recommend this. Get the blog built with your topic in place and your schedule to having current topic updates in place either automatically or manually. Without this at the very least your blog will not grow and it would not matter how many monetized ways your blog was set up.
Do I wait until my blog has been around a while?
This is an unknown. I have done this both ways and found it made very little difference. The new blog by definition has little traffic to for a while. I now prefer to set up my blogs then after a couple of weeks add my monetizing methods. Finally I think if you like to set your blog up once and only return to it to add your blog updates then maybe you would monetize it when you set it up initially. It really is a personal choice from what I am aware of.
Do I add only one type of monetizing method?
Again I think this is a matter of choice. We all have individual blogs so my blog may lend itself to adsense type monetizing methods but a blog relating to a specific product or product ranges may suite several methods like commission junction, adsense and text link ads.
Is it worth monetizing a blog anyway?
Purely a personal thing. If you use your blog to get a serious message out or you feel monetizing it may put your readers off your blog then you may not wish to use these methods. I believe all blogs are monetized to a certain degree if they have any links to places outside the blog it is just that the money earned from this does not necessary go to the blog owner. If you have a wordpress link on your blog then they are gaining customers if people click on these links and you get nothing for providing it except showing your appreciation for using their software of course but no money. How they earn from this is a whole other topic on itself which I am not going to get into here.
Therefore I believe it is definatly worth monetizing blogs if they do not fit into the paragraph above.

Or as I might say, “Bold but not Tacky!”
Yes. The blog URL title is rather pretentious but hopefully it will be understood why it was picked in the not to far away future, though I am sure there will be many to disagree with me. One of the things I have become aware of in my past, through observation and actual practise, has been that in order to achieve anything worthwhile in life you must first and foremost set a target for yourself, a written target.
The actual target is not necessarily one you believe you can reach but it must be high enough that a small failure to reach the stated target still leaves you in a great spot. As an example: If you want a pay rise from your boss of a dollar an hour then ask for ten and you just might be surprised at what he offers in return. Try it!
How might you apply this to a business;
Let me see. I once started an electrical business that required a monthly advertising budget. How does one figure that out when no earnings have yet been made. The rule of thumb I came across was whatever amount of money you wish to earn then place 10% of that dreamed up amount into your actual advertising budget. Obviously the amount must be within your ability to fund. I started of with a monthly budget of $400.00 expecting a return of $50,000 yearly. Well it worked better than expected and when the advertising budget was increased so did the income.
I have used this formula throughout life but how does this apply to blogging, blogs or making money from blogs. I see you are now starting to understand why I may have chosen the blog URL I own. My surprise really was that it was still available. Just shows blogging is still in it’s infancy and I am sure will grow beyond recognition in the future.
Why?
The blogging platform allows easy use of a web-site for both the user and the publisher. The user has an up to date account of whatever the blogger is blogging and the publisher, ( blogger), has a software program that allows virtually limitless application when it comes to add-ons, themes, pages and widgets. Possibly most importantly it brings the internet to the people. An average person with no prior website knowledge can quickly be up and blogging in no time at all. I will write a page on the easy steps to accomplish this shortly if any interest is shown for that.
The possibilities:
With so many advertisers wanting a piece of the advertising billion dollar, if not trillion dollar advertising budget of today it is little wonder the average person wants a piece of this pie if they can get it.
Wallah! the glorious. “( ** BLOG *** )”
